Building Churches - How We Got Started

“I want our church to be a part of building a Church building for the congregation that is currently meeting under the Tree!”

In August of 2020, Brother Michael returned home from his trip, greatly burdened for the congregations and pastors he had fellowshipped with in the Rift Valley. He wasn’t sure how it would work or where to begin, but he did know one thing; He wanted to build churches for them. He was invited to speak at Avenal Assembly of God, a sister church of Riverdale Assembly, not long after coming home. He shared with the congregation about his trip and mentioned the tree church. He expressed to them that he felt a burden to provide them with a building, and then he sat down. The pastor got up and said to his people, “I want our church to be a part of building a Church building for the congregation that is currently meeting under the Tree!” That night $8,000 was given, not only providing a starting point for the building project but confirming in Michael’s heart that God was ready to use Team ARC for this project. With the direction and location confirmed, Michael dug into his years of construction project management to estimate the total cost. This was no easy task with varying costs of materials and exchange rates, but eventually, he figured that roughly $20,000 would cover the cost. He brought this fundraising goal to Riverdale and Avenal Assembly, and by April of 2021, that goal was met. God planted the desire, ordained the place, and funded the project in His perfect timing.
